BUTTER BISCUITS
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the milk. Stir gently with a fork until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle shape, about 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) thick.
Use a biscuit cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out biscuits from the dough. Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each biscuit.
Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
These buttery biscuits are perfect for serving alongside meals or enjoying on their own. They are tender, flaky, and delicious!
